Payconiq operates a mobile payments platform that enables bank-account-and-smartphone-based transactions without the need for credit cards. The platform is currently used by more than 60,000 merchants in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The company focuses on simplifying and securing digital payments by integrating with banks and merchants. Payconiq plans to use new funding to speed up product development and consolidate its presence in the Benelux. The recent financing was announced as $22.3 million (20 million euros) from existing shareholders.
