Payn
Nihombashi Kabutocho 5-1, Tokyo, Chuo-ku, Japan
Overview
Founded in March 2022, Tokyo-based Payn offers “Payn,” a SaaS platform that automates the invoicing and recovery of cancellation fees for operators in hospitality, dining, golf, beauty, leisure and other reservation-heavy sectors. The service addresses chronic issues of no-shows, manual billing burdens and unpaid fees by streamlining the entire request-to-payment workflow. Payn released its product in October 2022 and has since been adopted by a variety of merchants, though specific customer or revenue figures were not disclosed. The company recently underwent a rebrand, unveiling the mission “Payments without Pain.” and a new corporate logo. Proceeds from the latest raise will fund new feature development, enhancements to existing functions, expansion of the sales organization, stronger customer support and broader corporate hiring. Management aims to make paying cancellation fees a social norm by 2030, positioning Payn as the global leader in cancellation-related payment solutions. CEO Kyohei Yamashita, formerly founder of Cansell, leads the team.
