Overview

Payrails builds a modular payment operating system for enterprises that spans the entire payment lifecycle, including orchestration, payouts, tokenisation, unified analytics, automated reconciliation, and in‑person payments. The company emphasizes integrations and currently supports a catalogue of over 100 integrations with providers such as Stripe, Adyen, Forter, SAP, Salesforce and Snowflake. Payrails reports strong enterprise traction and in 2024 processed more than 1 million daily operations while expanding into 30 new markets across Europe and MENA and winning customers across mobility, marketplaces, travel, e-commerce, financial services and subscriptions. The founding team includes former fintech leaders from Delivery Hero, and the company recently entered a strategic partnership with Mastercard. Payrails says it will use the new funding to double down on product development, expand its multi-product platform across the payment lifecycle, and support commercial growth across EMEA. Total funding to date exceeds $52.8 million following this raise. Payrails has developed a framework described as an "operating system" or "SAP for payments" to help enterprises and marketplaces build and run complex money flows. The platform is organized into three categories: Payments (smart routing, auto-retries, customizable checkout), Ledgers (splitting and merging funds) and Automations (reconciliations, simulations, anomaly detection and analytics). The founders — three former payments engineers who previously worked together at Delivery Hero — positioned the product to replace fragile multi-vendor stacks with a composable, enterprise-focused solution. Payrails targets larger enterprise customers and has adjusted its focus as customers shifted priorities toward efficiency, cost reduction and automated reconciliation. The company declined to disclose customers or operating metrics, but said inbound investor interest and product traction validated progress. Financially, Payrails has extended its seed financing after an initial seed last year, and the CEO confirmed the company is valued higher than in the prior round (valuation not disclosed). Payrails has built a payments platform that it describes as an "operating system for payments," exposing APIs to abstract payment complexity and orchestrate routing, consolidated money movements, ledger-based reconciliation and fraud-prevention. The founders — Orkhan Abdullayev, Emre Talay and Nicolas Thouzeau — developed the product from experience building Delivery Hero’s global payments system. The company is preparing for an official commercial launch later this year and initially will focus more on cash transactions, including cash advances for merchants and drivers. Longer term, Payrails aims to position itself as an infrastructure/FinOps provider that makes it easier to integrate multiple payment gateways and methods across geographies. It targets marketplaces, payment service providers and other businesses that require multi-party payout and settlement capabilities. Payrails emerged from stealth after a seed raise to fund commercialization and continued product development.
