Paytaca is a non-custodial crypto wallet app based in Tacloban City, Philippines that uses Bitcoin Cash (BCH) for fast, low-cost transactions. Launched in 2019, the firm aims to bring BCH to everyone by making decentralized peer-to-peer electronic cash accessible. The wallet supports BCH, token exchange, and access to decentralized finance services via web3 connectivity, enabling creation of fungible and non-fungible tokens for real-world use cases. Paytaca is designing the app as a ‘super app’ that will aggregate services such as food delivery, cab-hailing, bills payment, and mobile reload. The app has been launched on the Chrome Web Store and Google Play and has been used by hundreds of users in the US, Nigeria, Argentina, the Philippines, and other nations. The company recently raised PHP7.5 million (~$143,568) in an equity-free pre-seed and plans to use the funds to run a more aggressive user-growth campaign and introduce BCH as a merchant payment option through the app.
