Peafowl Plasmonics

Ulls väg 33 C, Uppsala, 756 51, Sweden

Overview

Peafowl Plasmonics develops transparent plasmonic light-harvesting cells that use plasmonic nanoparticles as the active photovoltaic material to convert light into electricity. The company targets initial markets for self-powered, low-power devices such as indoor sensors, e-paper displays and dynamic windows. With a 40 MSEK seed round, Peafowl will establish a production facility to produce prototypes, refine manufacturing and enable deployment at customers’ production sites. Research activities will remain at Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University, maintaining close ties to academic plasmonics expertise. The company plans to progress initiated development projects with commercial partners in glass manufacturing, e-paper displays and consumer devices. Peafowl also changed its name from Peafowl Solar Power to Peafowl Plasmonics to reflect its focus on plasmonics technology.
