Peggy is a mobile-first secure marketplace for contemporary art that launched its app and provides a curated, vetted selection of emerging and established artists. The platform pairs an industry-first, patent-pending AI-powered digital fingerprinting process with marketplace and social features to authenticate works via a smartphone photo, enabling reliable resale. Authentication enables secondary sales and automatic royalties, so artists, galleries and collectors can track ownership and artists receive royalties on resales. Peggy has partnered with top contemporary galleries and features artists who have shown at institutions such as the Venice Biennale, Centre Pompidou, MOCA Geffen, and Louvre Abu Dhabi. The company launched with an invite-code system to manage onboarding, offers editorial content and Pegcasts to educate new collectors, and the app is available on iOS and Android. Peggy was founded in 2020 by Craig Follett and Adam Meghji, and the team includes VP of Art Bronwyn Hunter-Shortly with experience at Christie’s and Kasmin. Financially, Peggy announced a C$10.8 million (US$8 million) funding round at launch to support growth.
