Based in Mountain View, California, Pensa offers a SaaS-based intelligent platform, called Maestro, that streamlines the delivery of full virtual data centers encompassing compute, networking, storage, security, and applications. The first service on Maestro is Pensa Lab, an on-demand offering that lets customers spin up virtual IT test labs before deploying applications in production. The system can assemble validated environments built on VMware, OpenStack, and other technologies, allowing teams to experiment with software-defined networking and storage without requiring deep expertise. Pensa was co-founded in September 2015 by CTO Ujwal Setlur, VP of Product Management Ganesh Rajan, and VP of Engineering Ramprasad Gopalsamy. The company is led by CEO Tom Joyce, a former senior executive at Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and EMC, with Jim Chappell serving as VP of Marketing. Pensa has raised $4 million in Series A funding led by March Capital Partners to accelerate product development and go-to-market efforts.
