Perceive Pharma is advancing novel small-molecule neuroprotective therapeutics with lead programs targeting glaucoma and other ophthalmic diseases. Its lead therapeutic candidate is PBI-671, drawn from a library of neuroprotective drug candidates assembled with a key industry partner. The company’s programs build on neuroprotective pathways first elucidated in a genomic screening by co-founders Drs. Don Zack and Derek Welsbie. Series A proceeds will fund development of first-in-class therapies to prevent vision loss in glaucoma and additional undisclosed disease areas. Perceive Pharma was spun out from Perceive Biotherapeutics, Inc. and is led by CEO K. Angela Macfarlane. Carol Gallagher, Pharm.D., has joined the board as an independent director.
