Perfint Healthcare develops image-guided, minimally invasive robotic systems for cancer treatment, including Maxio, a CT-based robotic targeting system to visualise, plan and operate tumour-destruction procedures. Maxio can precisely place multiple needles and deliver microwave, radiofrequency, laser or cryogenic energy to kill tumours. The company has developed the equipment, tested prototypes and is set to commercialise the product. Perfint plans to develop a similar ultrasound-guided version and to expand its market presence in the US, China and Japan, where regulatory approvals are pending. It also intends to set up and expand an advanced technology lab in the US. The company received additional funding to support these commercialisation and development efforts. Perfint Healthcare, founded in 2005 by S Nandakumar and a team of healthcare device professionals, is based in Chennai, India. Its flagship product, PIGA CT, is a high‑tech medical robotic positioning device that assists in clinical applications such as biopsy, FNAC, drug delivery and ablation of small tumors in the lung, abdomen and pelvis. PIGA CT is certified to international standards including ISO 13485, IEC/UL 60601-1 and carries CE marking, and is installed in top medical institutions in India including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The company is completing development of its Interventional Oncology Assistance product suite. Perfint will use the new capital to finish product development and further expand its presence in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. The company recently secured a US$7.2M Series B and added a board member from the lead investor.
