Overview
Personify builds Personify Live, software that uses Microsoft Kinect and other depth cameras to segment and overlay a live presenter onto slides, desktop screens, streaming video, or other on-screen content in real time. The product is offered freemium and is designed to layer on top of existing enterprise web-conferencing suites such as WebEx, GoToMeeting, and Microsoft Lync (and can work with Join.me when using Personify’s screenshare). Pilot testers include SAP, McKinsey & Company, and LinkedIn; the company reported around 2,000 beta sign-ups that it is converting to paying customers, with pricing starting at $20 per user. Personify also offers a package of three months of service free plus Asus’ Xtion Pro Live depth camera for $199. The company positions the product for inside sales, webinars, demos, training, and education, and sees future consumer/living-room and mobile use cases with demos planned by the end of next year and possible deployments by 2014. The team is roughly 20 people split between Illinois and Vietnam.
