PetCoach is a Wayne, PA–based digital pet healthcare platform led by Brock Weatherup. The company provides personalized online pet care combining personal advice and 24/7 access to certified pet professionals through its website and iOS/Android apps. Users can engage in immediate one-on-one consultations with certified vets and access an education center of pet-related discussions and vet-authored articles. PetCoach secured $2m in seed funding to support its growth. The company said it will use the funds to accelerate business growth. Investors include Comcast Ventures, DreamIt Ventures, Maveron and direct investment from Brock Weatherup. PetCoach is in soft-launch and provides a free Q&A service where users ask vets and trainers questions about pet health and behavior. Experts are not paid per question; there are some economic incentives tied to advertising and Pet360 acts as a marketing channel for those experts. The team aims to build its panel of experts to 1,000. PetCoach plans to monetize through advertising. CEO David Martin moved to Philadelphia after completing the DreamIt Ventures accelerator in Texas and now works out of Pet360’s office; three other team members are based in Spain. Financially, the company has raised investment from Pet360 plus earlier friends-and-family and DreamIt funding.
