Patients register and order medication through Pharmacy2U, which arranges prescriptions with their GP, handles dispensing and delivery, and sends reorder reminders. The service is capable of dispensing one million prescription items each month. Pharmacy2U also offers a private online doctor service with registered GPs and operates sister company ChemistDirect.co.uk for over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products. The company secured a further £40m in funding and intends to use the proceeds to grow its online service. Pharmacy2u is a Leeds, UK-based NHS-approved online-only pharmacy that offers a home delivery repeat prescription service for NHS patients. It provides clinical advice and medication-management assistance from qualified pharmacists. Its dispensing hub is capable of handling up to 700,000 prescription items a month. Ten months earlier the business received a £10m growth capital investment from BGF to support its merger with ChemistDirect.co.uk, creating a business with the UK’s largest customer base. The company intends to use the newly raised funds to accelerate its marketing strategy and deliver long-term growth. Pharmacy2u is led by CEO Mark Livingstone, CFO Gary Dannatt and COO Daniel Lee.
