Pharmapod
26 Pembroke Street Upper, Dublin 2, D02 X361, Ireland
Overview
Pharmapod offers a cloud-based, monthly-subscription platform that enables pharmacists to record and report adverse drug effects to peers. The product is being expanded into a Global Reporting and Learning system intended to reduce financial and risk-management burdens in healthcare. The company was started in August 2012 by Leonora O’Brien after she left the pharmacy regulator. Early support came from the National Digital Research Centre and Enterprise Ireland, and later investment included pharmacists and institutional seed funds. Pharmapod reported accumulated losses of €185,000 at year-end 2013. The recent funding is being used to finance expansion and further product development of the reporting system.
