Pharminox discovers and develops small molecules that target DNA damage and inhibit DNA damage repair mechanisms. Its lead programme, PMX 500, aims to identify small molecules that promote rapid cell death of cancer cells. The company is led by CEO Peter Worrall and is based at the BioCity facility in Nottingham, UK. Pharminox intends to use the new funding to progress its portfolio of novel cancer therapeutics. It was formed in 2002 as a spin-out from Oxford University and is backed by IP Group plc, IP Venture Fund, Oxford University, and a number of private investors, management and employees.
