Pharos
San Francisco, California, United States
Overview
Pharos applies generative AI to the time-consuming task of quality reporting for hospitals, automatically extracting required data from unstructured EMRs and populating registry forms. The product targets reporting to external clinical registries such as CMS and the American College of Surgeons, where manual case review can take up to eight hours. The company was founded by Felix Brann and Matthew Jones, who previously worked at Vital, and later added Alex Clarke, an MD with a PhD in AI. Pharos went through Y Combinator's summer 2024 cohort and currently consists of the three co-founders. The startup positions its solution as a way to save hospitals money and free up nurses' time for patient care. Pharos plans to use the new funding to hire a team focused on sales and maintaining hospital relationships.
