Phonedeck
Tempelhofer Ufer 17, Berlin, 10693, Germany
Overview
Phonedeck rebuilt its Android client as a pivot to introduce “Connected Contacts,” a peer-to-peer contact book that transfers key Phonedeck web features to the phone. The app writes updates directly into native phone books (Android, iOS and Nokia Series40) so contacts can edit and push their own details to friends' devices. Phonedeck avoids a separate contact cloud and aims to keep address books automatically up to date, with changes pushed to connected phones within seconds. The app includes a dashboard that surfaces relevant contacts based on time, past communication and phone events, a classic contact list view showing last interactions, and statistics on most important contacts. Users can update profile photos and push number changes (useful when switching countries or SIMs); the company claims this could make manual contact management obsolete. Phonedeck is based in Berlin, was founded in 2010, and has raised over €1m in seed financing led by angel investor Christophe Maire.
