PhotoBiotics is a med-tech spin-out from Imperial College London focused on developing biologically-targeted photodynamic therapy (t-PDT) agents intended to treat cancers and enable diagnostic imaging while avoiding side-effects of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Its lead product candidate is ProstaLite, aimed at prostate cancer. The company is also developing an MRI imaging agent and plans to generate proof-of-concept in animals. The recent funding will support its R&D programme to reach a significant value-adding milestone.
