Saltmätargatan 9, Stockholm, Stockholms Lan, 113 59, Sweden
Overview
Photocollect provides an event-focused photo- and video-sharing service that lets multiple participants upload and contribute to a shared album. The product supports up to HD video, offers features such as album-level security controls, photo downloads, comments, tagging and Facebook integration, and emphasizes a polished user interface. It is currently web-based; a dedicated iPhone app exists but is awaiting Apple App Store approval. The company is seed-funded, having taken early backing to get the product to market. Seed funding includes $100k from Wyatt Media Group plus investment from co-founder Joakim Gronvall. Joakim previously founded the Swedish photosharing site Bilddagboken (founded 2004), which the article cites as having 1.4 million accounts and 260 million photos; he left Bilddagboken in January 2010 to pursue Photocollect full time.
