PhotoRocket is a Seattle-based startup that launched its photo-sharing tool in private alpha. The Windows-only application lets users share photos stored on their computer with friends, family, social networks, and photo sites by right-clicking images, avoiding uploads and email attachments. Mac and iPhone compatible versions are listed as in the works on the private alpha sign-up page. The company’s management team includes experienced operators such as founder Scott Lipsky (founder of aQuantive and former Amazon executive) and CEO Gary Roshak (formerly VP Mobile Advertisers and Publishers at Yahoo). According to an SEC filing, PhotoRocket raised just over $1.3 million in the recent financing, bringing total capital raised to slightly north of $1.7 million.
