Picplz is a mobile social photo-sharing service that automatically tags photos with location and lets users post directly to Facebook and Twitter and check in to Foursquare. The app launched initially on Android and released an iPhone version in August. Picplz has seen about 100,000 downloads across the two platforms. The company raised $5 million from Andreessen Horowitz and said it will use the new funding to further develop its product and a monetization platform. Marc Andreessen will join Picplz's board as a result of the investment.
