Pika Energy is a clean-energy manufacturer based in Westbrook, Maine that designs DC power electronics to integrate distributed resources such as solar PV, batteries, the electricity grid and DC loads. Led by President and CEO Ben Polito and Director of Strategic Partnerships Rob Smart, the company recently launched the Pika Energy Island system, a product line for solar-plus-storage that uses a DC bus to integrate batteries with solar generation. The Island system targets homes and businesses seeking integrated clean-energy generation and management. Pika has received funding and support from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Maine Technology Institute, the Small Enterprise Growth Fund and private investors including members of the Maine Angels and eCoast Angels. The company intends to use Series A proceeds to scale up manufacturing and sales of its proprietary technology.
