PingPod operates autonomous, self-serve table-tennis pods that users reserve via a web app and access remotely, with digital features like instant replay and automated scoreboards. The company offers paddles and balls, professional coaching, partner-finding, kids’ classes, events, leagues, tournaments and a community Slack. Its autonomous model minimizes labor costs by eliminating onsite staff and using outside specialists for security and surveillance. Since launching in February 2020, PingPod has recorded over 35,000 reservations and more than 13,000 customer sign-ups. Currently three NYC locations are open, three more are in the pipeline, and a Philadelphia location is slated to open this spring. An iOS mobile app is launching soon to complement the existing web-app booking flow.
