Pintrips offers an online dashboard that lets users "pin" flight options from travel sites and compare different flights, dates, or destinations side-by-side while tracking price changes in real time. Users install a Pintrips browser plugin that adds a Pin button to supported travel sites so itineraries can be saved directly to a shared board. Boards can be shared with others who can add pins or comments, and the company has launched public pinboards that surface crowd-sourced deals to major destinations. The service supports major U.S. carriers (American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, U.S. Air and Virgin America) and search sites including Google, Expedia, Kayak, and Orbitz. Pintrips exited beta (launched in November 2012) with roughly 20,000 users and 7,000 pinned itineraries, and reported conversion rates as high as 20% on some days. The company says it will focus on its public pinboards feature and is preparing to raise a Series A.
