Piomic Medical develops a proprietary COMS therapy that combines concurrent optical and magnetic stimulation for hard-to-heal wounds and is delivered via the COMS One device. The therapy is designed to integrate into inpatient, ambulant and homecare settings and enables patient self-administration to support self-management. Following publication of its first-in-human multicenter prospective comparative trial in Swiss wound care centers, Piomic reported significant clinical benefits in therapy-refractory wounds. The company completed an initial soft launch in selected advanced wound care markets, with over 5,000 treatments performed and 450 patients treated, receiving strong customer feedback. Piomic recently closed an oversubscribed CHF 7.5M Series A to strengthen the body of evidence for clinical efficacy and pursue US market clearance. Proceeds will fund a large randomized controlled MAVERICKS trial focused on diabetic foot ulcers and support integration of COMS therapy with telemedicine for homecare delivery. Piomic develops an innovative non-invasive medical device for the treatment of chronic wounds. The company reported encouraging initial results from a clinical pilot trial and aims to provide clinical and economic benefits to institutions treating non-healing wounds. Management cites diabetes and an aging population as drivers of a market with more than 50 million patients affected by hard-to-heal wounds. Proceeds from the financing will be used to accelerate development of its advanced wound care product, expand the team and operations, and strengthen the clinical body of evidence for its core technology. Piomic has attracted continued support from existing business angels and a pool of private investors. The company also added Bertrand Hughes as a key advisor, bringing experience in advanced wound care and MedTech markets.
