Pirate Studios operates fully automated, self-service 24-hour music studios that combine physical rehearsal and recording spaces with technology such as online booking, 24-hour keycode access and IoT controls. Many rooms offer automated recording and live-streaming capabilities; built-in room mics and inputs upload sessions to the cloud where the company’s software handles mixing and mastering. The company targets musicians, DJs, producers and podcasters with low-cost access to professional facilities, charging as little as £4 per hour depending on room and facilities. In three years Pirate has grown to 350 studios across 21 locations including London, New York and Berlin. The new $20M funding will support continued expansion across the U.K., Germany and the U.S. Pirate combines physical studio real estate with scalable tech to streamline logistics and content creation for emerging and established acts.
