Overview
Pistol Lake developed Eudae, a custom fabric made from a blend of eucalyptus fibers and recycled plastic bottles intended to look like a regular t-shirt while performing like workout gear. The eucalyptus fibers inhibit bacterial growth and odor, positioning the line for both gym use and everyday wear. The company launched with two t-shirt styles and has since expanded into henleys, hoodies, and sweatshirts. Historically it funded new product categories primarily through crowdfunding campaigns and has operated off revenues. Demand has been doubling every month over the last quarter, and the team plans to increase inventory to meet that demand. Future product plans include new shirt and short styles and expanding into categories such as socks and underwear to get Eudae into more customers' wardrobes. Pistol Lake makes high-quality men’s basics—initially T-shirts and polos, now expanding to henleys and two hoodie styles—sold direct to consumers. The brand emphasizes premium materials (six-ounce cotton) and a garment-dye finish to resist fading and shrinking. Price points are positioned below legacy premium brands (T-shirts about $22; hoodies $35). Production is kept in small U.S. batches to enable up to 20 size variations and rapid custom patterning for better fit. The founders moved to L.A. to find manufacturers capable of small-batch, rapid prototyping. To fund the new line the company is running a crowdfunding pre-order campaign and has previously run a Kickstarter for its first line.
