PitchBook gathers data using more than 240 research professionals combined with machine-learning and natural language processing, followed by stringent quality assurance and direct verification. The company has grown significantly, generated positive cash flow over the past five years, and reported 2015 sales up more than 68% to $31 million while targeting similar growth in 2016. PitchBook serves more than 1,400 customers and plans to hire over 100 employees this year, bringing headcount to more than 600. Additional capital is intended to expand data coverage and fund development of new features and product extensions.
