Overview
PLAI Labs is building a web3 and generative-AI-powered social gaming platform and an AI protocol platform for user-generated content and assets. Its first announced product, “Champions Ascension,” is described as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game where players can port existing NFTs, go on quests, trade items, fight in a colosseum, and build custom dungeons. The company says it is developing generative art protocols to help users generate their own content and assets. PLAI was founded by industry veterans Chris DeWolfe and Aber Whitcomb, who previously co-founded Myspace and the mobile game studio Jam City. The startup raised a $32 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz. More product details and information from PLAI are forthcoming.
