PlanetiQ is developing a commercial satellite constellation that delivers high-definition weather, climate and space weather forecasting and analytics. The company’s data and services target commercial and government customers worldwide across weather forecasting, aviation, shipping, offshore oil and gas, defense, intelligence, energy, agriculture, insurance, retail and transportation. PlanetiQ closed an $18.7M Series B, bringing total funding to $23.9M, and intends to use the funds to launch its satellite constellation. It plans to launch its first two spacecraft at the end of 2019 and to deploy a 20-spacecraft constellation over the following two years.
