Plant-Ex Ingredients is a UK producer of natural plant-derived flavours, colours and extracts supplying food manufacturers globally. Founded in 2010, the company operates sites in the UK, Poland and Turkey and established a division in Chicago earlier this year. Its products are available in over 50 countries, and it recently opened a new Bristol facility with twice the capacity of its previous site. Plant-Ex invested £1.25 million in 2022 to improve service and customer satisfaction. The company has secured a £9 million minority investment from BGF to support international expansion, with particular focus on the US market. BGF is also supporting the business through its talent network, linked to the appointment of Susan Barratt as non-executive chair.
