PlantResponse Biotech focuses on identifying and developing molecules and traits that regulate plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. The company has developed a broad portfolio of biological products based on known modes of action, concentrated in two areas: novel biological products derived from plants and microorganisms to improve crop vigor and resistance, and plant genes (traits) for crop breeding to increase yield and stress resistance. It holds an IP portfolio with ownership and proprietary rights for six patents and ten products. Founded in 2008 as a spin-off of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, the company is led by CEO Eduardo Quemada and was founded by Prof. Antonio Molina and Prof. Pablo Rodríguez Palenzuela. PlantResponse intends to use new capital to develop and bring its current portfolio to market, register and launch novel products, and expand its R&D team and technology pipeline.
