Plasmion, led by CEO Dr. Jan-Christoph Wolf, develops SICRIT®, a novel ionisation technology for mass spectrometry. The company positions SICRIT® to simplify and improve chemical analysis in laboratories. The technology also has industrial applications as a highly sensitive electronic nose and as an online sensor, including for explosives detection. Plasmion completed an almost €1M funding round to support further development and marketing of its ionisation technology. The company intends to use the funds to expand into industrial sensor solutions and to strengthen international sales and development in the field of laboratory analysis. Investors in the round included Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (BayBG), High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and a BayStartUP network business angel.
