Platform Cannabis Advisors provides capital, real estate and back-office operations for independent cannabis retailers in New York, holding the head lease for each store and lending startup and working capital interest free. The company is paid 10% of store revenue, from which it covers rent and its services, and it does not take license collateral or engage in plant-touching. Eleven stores operate under PCA’s model, with three opened this year, two in build, and more locations planned. PCA’s retail clients retain their licenses, equity and run the businesses; PCA’s model often sees license holders profitable before PCA breaks even.
