Platinum Credit Uganda, a subsidiary of The Platcorp Group, focuses on extending microfinance services to underserved populations in Uganda. Its core product set includes short-to-medium-term loans designed for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as low- and middle-income households who struggle to access traditional banking services. The company currently serves over 100,000 clients, 55% of whom live in rural areas; youth make up 28% of its customer base, while 23% are female, and 47% of MSME borrowers are women. Leveraging both branch and digital distribution channels, Platinum Credit Uganda recently launched an expanded suite of MSME and household loan products. These new offerings are being rolled out in phases following a fresh capital infusion. By prioritising flexible repayment structures and inclusive outreach, the lender aims to help clients cover essential expenses such as education, health and housing while supporting small-business growth. The firm positions itself as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic development within Uganda.
