Playdek publishes digital versions of tabletop and hobby board games, with flagship titles including its Ascension series. The company is developing mobile adaptations such as an upcoming Agricola app and is involved in bringing Dungeons & Dragons to iOS. Playdek plans to build a hobby-gamer community and online platform due to launch later this year, offering leaderboards, forums, events and tournaments to recreate the 'around the table' feeling. Management says the platform will provide services hobby gamers value and help players meet and hang out. Financially, Playdek has completed a $3.8M Series A and had previously raised $1.56M in seed and angel rounds, bringing total funding to $5.36M post-Series A.
