Playtox is a Russian developer of free-to-play, browser-based massively multiplayer online (MMO) mobile games. Led by CEO Artem Zinoviev, the company develops mobile browser-based titles and plans to extend HTML5 technologies across its MMO line-up. It intends to use the funds to accelerate global expansion of its MMO mobile browser gaming titles, targeting the U.S. and emerging markets. Playtox claims a base of 25 million registered users and almost one million monthly active users across Russia, Southern Asia, and Latin America. Its game portfolio includes World of Shadows, My Farm, and Gangsta. The new investment is earmarked to support product and market expansion and HTML5 development.
