Plover is a tech-enabled commercial insurance brokerage that helps brokers obtain solutions for climate and emerging risks. It focuses on bringing specialty products to disrupted markets, specializing in wildfire, flood, wind, and other perils where admitted carriers have pulled back. Launched in 2022, Plover has secured over $5 million in funding to support its growth. The company plans to use the capital to expand its brokerage team, invest in software automation of the broking process, and support a growing program business. Plover also launched a specialty brokerage operation and appointed Brendan Beeg as Senior Vice President of brokerage; Beeg brings a decade of experience in insurance broking and the parametric risk space. CEO and co-founder Max Clarke framed the strategy as filling gaps left by mass admitted non-renewals and expanding the availability of E&S products.
