Plume Labs
40, rue du Louvre, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75001, France
Overview
Plume Labs builds Flow, a wearable air-quality tracker that measures PM2.5, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), temperature and humidity. The clip-on device can be attached to a bag, bike or stroller, includes a tiny leather strap, a touch button and 12 color LEDs that display the last 12 hours of pollution, and uses Bluetooth Low Energy. Plume Labs is building a community of Flow users to generate live pollution maps of cities from aggregated device readings. In addition to the consumer device, the company offers an API and air-quality forecasts based on past readings, multiple data points and machine learning. The company recently raised $4.5 million from Dr. Laurent Alexandre, with part of the money coming from a European Union grant and Bpifrance. Pre-orders were expected to start in the Spring; price and wider availability were not disclosed in the article.
