Plus Gold is a Bengaluru-based startup founded in May 2022 by Veer Mishra and Raj Parekh that offers digital gold investments through one-time transactions or Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs). Users can exchange their digital gold investments for real jewellery, while the service aims to remove traditional gold-investment frictions such as storage, purity assurance, and liquidity concerns. The company raised $1.2 million in a seed round led by JITO with participation from several angel and institutional backers. Plus Gold plans to use the funds to upgrade its technological infrastructure, enhance user satisfaction, fortify security, and create AI-driven investment advisory services. A portion of the proceeds will be used to hire engineers, customer-service representatives, and other staff. The startup operates in a crowded online gold-investment market with competitors including Oro Money, Rupeek, Jar, Indfiagold, and major fintechs like PhonePe adding gold-buying features.
