Overview
PneumaCare develops non-invasive 3D-imaging respiratory diagnostic and monitoring equipment, including the Thora-3DI™ and PneumaScan™, which are CE marked. Its products are used in clinics for pre- and post-operative assessments, drug testing, and device development by public and private health care providers. The company was founded in 2009 and is led by Dr. Bill Mason (Chairman). PneumaCare plans to use the recent financing to expand its premises at the St. John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge to increase production volumes. The funds will also support the creation of training facilities for customers and distributors and to support broader commercial expansion. PneumaCare develops non-contact respiratory monitoring systems based on 3D-imaging technology first developed at the University of Cambridge. Its flagship product, PneumaScan™, allows assessment of patients while they breathe naturally without contact or interaction with apparatus. PneumaScan™ recently received CE mark approval and is currently used in clinics, pre- and postoperative assessments, drug testing, and device development by public and private health care providers. The company completed a £2.0m funding round to accelerate commercial development of PneumaScan™. PneumaCare was founded in 2009 and is led by CEO Ward Hills and Chairman Dr Bill Mason. The company intends to commercialize PneumaScan™ in Europe and pursue regulatory approval in the USA and other markets.
