Pocket Points geofences academic buildings so students can check in, lock their devices, and accrue points for every minute they stay off their phones. Points are redeemable for perks and discounts at local and national stores and restaurants. The platform includes about 1,200 small businesses and partnerships with larger organizations such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, which provide free tickets to ASU students who earn enough points. Pocket Points is live at over 150 schools and has about 100,000 users. Users have collectively kept their phones locked for over 100 years. The app is available on the iOS App Store.
