Overview

PocketLaw is a contract automation SaaS offering contract creation, e-signing, legal discovery, execution, storage and a library of hundreds of jurisdiction-specific templates and guides. The platform targets SMEs across all verticals and is designed so non-legal business stakeholders can manage legal work without in-house legal expertise. PocketLaw launched its product in March 2020 and has acquired about 6,000 customers, including Voi, Kry/Livi, Juni, Estrid, Punchy Drinks, Babybjorn and Schibsted. The company says customers save up to 14 working weeks and up to $200,000 in legal fees annually and achieve time savings of around 80% versus traditional legal services. Its biggest markets so far are Sweden and the U.K., and it expects traction to pick up in Germany and Norway later this year. The Series A will fund expansion across Europe and hires across legal, technical and operational teams to support growth. PocketLaw raised £1.2M in seed funding to support continued growth, bringing total capital raised to £3M to date. Backers included Christoffer Norman, Ludvig Thureson, Adrian Brummer, Cristina Stenbeck, Susanna Campbell and Johan Andersson. Founded in 2018 and based in Stockholm, PocketLaw equips companies with a digital tool that handles contracts and legal matters across employment, corporate and commercial law while providing a smart contract management system and lawyer-on-demand access. The company launched in the UK in June 2021 and intends to use the funds to grow its team and expand internationally, with a focus on scaling in the UK. Since the beginning of 2021 PocketLaw has increased revenue nearly 500% and doubled its team to 23. It is currently used by hundreds of companies, including Livi, Voi and Le Bab, and has partnerships with law firms EBL Miller Rosenfalck and Fondia, accounting firm Bokio, and co-working spaces Impact Hub and Epicenter.
