Polar Security provides an agentless cloud data protection platform that continuously discovers and classifies sensitive data across known and unknown cloud-native data stores. The platform gives complete visibility into data types, flows, access, and data-store ownership, and it detects vulnerabilities that could lead to data exfiltration or ransomware as well as compliance violations such as GDPR. The company says its automation addresses decentralized and shadow data created across multi-cloud environments without impacting workloads. Polar has deployed its technology in production with several U.S. and Israeli companies that it expects will convert to paying customers but does not yet have disclosed paying customers. Polar was founded in January 2021 and emerged from stealth upon announcing its seed financing. Remaining funds will be used to hire aggressively, with plans to grow headcount from 20 to 40 over the next six months.
