Polares Medical SA is building MRace, a Posterior Leaflet Replacement (PLR) system intended to broaden transcatheter treatment options for patients with mitral regurgitation, especially those whose anatomy limits use of transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER). More than 70 patients have now received the device, and one-year data show sustained safety and efficacy, validating the PLR concept. The company positions MRace to simplify procedures, cover a wider spectrum of mitral anatomies, and preserve future treatment pathways. Proceeds from its latest financing will fund further clinical studies across the United States, Europe, and Australia and support U.S. market expansion. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, with U.S. operations in Palo Alto, California, Polares is targeting one of structural heart’s largest markets with what investors view as a differentiated approach. The strong clinical momentum has helped the company close an oversubscribed Series C, providing additional runway for product development and regulatory progress.
