Polte Corporation
15301 Dallas Parkway Suite 125, Addison, Texas, 75001, United States
Overview
Polte provides a software service that converts data from cell modems into location information using 4G and potentially 5G signals. The solution works with existing modems and performs all computation server-side; Polte-enabled devices transmit about 300 bytes to Polte’s servers so location can be determined a few seconds later. By avoiding GPS on the device, Polte’s approach uses far less battery and can lower long-term tracking costs for large fleets of IoT devices. Target use cases include supply chain and logistics, transportation, energy and automotive industries, and multi-week package tracking. Financially, the company raised a $12.5M extension to its Series A this year and previously raised $6M in 2017. Polte has also participated in TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield.
