Polymath combines avatar customization, building mechanics, and adaptive math lessons on a virtual island where children must solve math problems to progress. Its adaptive algorithm personalizes learning by analyzing answers to identify knowledge gaps and selecting the next best question to prevent overwhelm. Gameplay integrates learning opportunities (e.g., measuring for builds, spotting incorrect shop prices) and supports both at-home and classroom versions with teacher monitoring and parent-facing reports via the Polymath Relate app. The game launched in January 2023 through the Startmate accelerator in New Zealand and has attracted thousands of users across Arizona, California, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
