PolySwarm operates a decentralized marketplace where security experts build and deploy competing anti-malware engines to detect threats. The platform runs on Nectar (NCT), an ERC20-compatible utility token used to submit and classify potential threats and to replace traditional antivirus subscription payments. PolySwarm positions itself to disrupt the $8.5 billion cyber threat intelligence market by encouraging innovation and competition among security researchers. The company was built out of Narf Industries, LLC, which completed blockchain-based identity work for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and other security projects for DARPA.
