Polytag
Unit 13a Deeside Industrial Estate (Zone 1 Central), Drome Road, Deeside, Flintshire, CH5 2LR, United Kingdom
Overview
Polytag develops a tag-and-trace barcode platform that uses GS1 Digital Link QR Codes to allow brand owners and retailers in food and beverage to track packaging from labeling to scanning at recycling centres. The product combines in-house designed hardware and software and is being trialled with Ocado, Co‑op, Arla, Aldi and Biffa. The company has industry backing and support from the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Broughton. Polytag has now raised £2.85m to fund growth of its technology and to scale its resources. CEO Alice Rackley said the funds will be used to invest further in technology and staff to accelerate growth while improving recycling rates and circularity. Collateral Good and Knop Ventures are named venture backers supporting the company alongside angel investors.
