PolyTouch Medical Ltd. is a Misgav, Israel–based developer of laparoscopic soft tissue prosthetic placement technologies. Its core product, PatchAssist(TM), is a surgical device commercially available in the US that enables accurate, rapid delivery and precision placement of soft tissue prostheses for procedures including laparoscopic ventral hernia repair (LVHR). The company was founded in March 2009 and is a portfolio company of The Trendlines Group’s Misgav Venture Accelerator. In September 2010 PolyTouch raised US$830k in a private financing round. Management says the funds will enable the company to proceed rapidly to post‑market clinical studies and to introduce PatchAssist in the USA in 2011. The financing is positioned to support clinical validation and US market rollout of the PatchAssist device.
