Popster is a music video-sharing app that lets artists record video and voice, add stickers and color backgrounds, apply in-house vocal effects, and share creations on social media. The app includes generative AI features for lyric idea generation, beat creation, and an "Albums" artwork generator (powered by OpenAI), and it uses Mubert’s library for royalty-free backtracks. Key features include an "Add a beat" tool to compose genre- and vibe-specific backtracks and a "Mashup" remix capability that enables side-by-side collaborations similar to TikTok’s Stitch/Duet. Popster is early-stage with only a few thousand users, nearly 10,000 original songs created on the platform, and an average session length of about 1.5 hours per user per day. Future plans include growing the team, enhancing the video server, launching paid features, and pursuing partnerships with music labels. The startup was co-founded by CEO Themis Drakonakis and CTO Sotiris Kaniras, and the app is available on the App Store (no Android app at present).
